In Case of Emergency
In these early stages, we do not have personnel, equipment or resources to respond to emergencies.
We will help where we can, but the legal responsibilities are as follows:
If you see a community animal in need of urgent help, please contact the municipality of Argos-Mykines, who hold the legal responsibility for care of these animals on +30 27513 60000 or +30 27513 60050. You can contact us to see if we know the animal or are able to help, we may be able to guide you or arrange help for the animal.
A structured veterinary wellness plan offers essential healthcare services like exams, dental cleanings, and vaccinations, providing peace of mind and long-term health benefits for your beloved pet.
If you witness animal abuse or neglect
If you witness animal abuse or neglect, you should document the incident (take photos/videos), gather evidence (like license plates if an animal is dumped), and report it to the nearest Greek Police (Hellenic Police) station or call 100. It is important to make a written statement and take a copy. We cannot make reports on your behalf, you as the witness are needed. However, if you are finding serious barriers to making a report, contact us and we will try to help.
There are two types of reports you can make to the police.
- You can make an informal complaint, and have this recorded in the police incident log, or you can submit a formal report— a complaint against known or unknown persons—so that it can be investigated.
- A more formal complaint can be submitted in writing to the police or directly to the prosecutor’s office (for our area, Nafplio), along with a filing fee. It will be forwarded to the prosecutor, who will later call you in to give your statement.
A third option for complaints is to contact the dedicated animal abuse hotline by calling 10410, where complaints can be made anonymously if you do not feel safe to make a public complaint.
No one is above the law. Anyone abusing or neglecting animals needs to be corrected so we can build a better and safer community.
